Collective Agreement

2019-2022 Collective Agreement

The main body of 2019-2022 Collective Agreement has now been finalized and printed copies are on the way. All of the new collective agreement language is in full force and effect, now that it has been ratified by both the SFU Board of Governors and the TSSU Membership. This version of the agreement has both Graduate Facilitators and ELC/ITP/ITA Instructors included in the body of the agreement for the first time! However, TSSU is still awaiting SFU's agreement to the Appendices and MOUs to be attached to the Collective Agreement. While we await that agreement so those documents can be included in the final PDF the following drafts may be useful to understand the content of each.

Please contact us if you have any questions and for original copies of letters and agreements should you need to reply upon them for interpretation. Many of the appendices are also available in the 2014-2019 Collective Agreement below and have not changed.

If you have a TSSU appointment, a printed Collective Agreement should be provided to you by your department once they are available.

Certification

The scope of TSSU's bargaining unit, in other words who is included in the Union, has a foundation in TSSU's Certification as most recently issued on July 6, 2022 by the BC Labour Relations Board. In addition, TSSU and SFU have a November 15, 2019 Voluntary Recognition Agreement outlining the recognition of TSSU as the bargaining agent for Research Assistants and Grant Employees.
