Attend the Vancouver & District Labour Council's 2019 International Women's Day Dinner: March 8th

Every year, the TSSU purchases a table at the International Women's Day Dinner hosted by the Vancouver District & Labour Council. This year is no different, so we would like to invite any TSSU members who are interested in attending the event to contact the TSSU office in AQ 5129 in-person, via email (tssu@tssu.ca), or by phone (778-782-4735).

The IWD Dinner is a celebration of women's contributions to struggles for justice around the world, and a great opportunity to meet other women and non-binary folks in the labour movement here on unceded Coast Salish territories.

Although everyone will considered, priority will be given to women and non-binary TSSU members, and at least half of the eight seats will be reserved for members who have attended the IWD Dinner before. TSSU is picking up the tab, so there is no charge to attend the event!

The Dinner will take place on Friday, March 8th from 5:15 - 9:15 pm at the Maritime Labour Centre on 1880 Triumph St. (a five-minute walk from the Commercial Dr. stop on the 95 B-Line). The theme this year will be "Women for Economic Justice: Taking on Poverty," and the evening will feature guest speakers from the BC Poverty Coalition and a live musical performance by Jacky Arrah Yenga.

You can find out more about the IWD Dinner on their Facebook Event page and the Vancouver & District Labour Council on their website.
