Every TSSU member has up to 6 hours of PAID professional development EVERY SEMESTER! Our members most often use this to attend ‘TA/TM Day’ which is FRIDAY this week on BBY 8:30am - 4pm (or Wednesday in Surrey or Thursday at Woodwards) however there are many other great workshops that count. Below is a list (not exhaustive) of some other great chances to improve your skills, more will be added as time goes by:
How to be paid:
Your time can be claimed by putting the hours on your Time Use Guideline (TUG) under the line “Other”. By putting it on there you will not have TA duties assigned to those hours and thus will be paid at your current rate an hour (around $23 an hour). Thus 6 hours = $138. For more information on your TUG visit: https://www.tssu.ca/form-benefits-faq/
