The lack of affordable childcare is something that affects our communities; its everyone's issue. If you've watched CBC lately you've seen an expose on the state of childcare in Canada. There are only enough licensed childcare spaces for ~20% of children who need care and this care typically costs in excess of $1000 / month / child. Next Saturday a large parade is planned to bring childcare to the forefront. TSSU members, families and children are encouraged to attend! See the attached poster for more info!

Also, the TSSU has fought to achieve a $50,000 / year childcare fund (which is only just a small drop in the bucket). We encourage you to email tssu@tssu.ca if you'd like to find more information about the fund!
