In November 2019, over 900 Research Assistants and Grant Employees (RAs) demanded and won the right to unionize with TSSU. RAs have waited for 671 days and counting as SFU Administration has refused again and again to honour the unionization they agreed to.

At the bargaining table, we've seen SFU act in bad faith by going back on their word and continue to delay and interfere. Their delays mean RAs are without critical protections and benefits while we still toil away to produce the research that builds SFU's reputation.

RAs need your help! Tell SFU Administration: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

We need to tell them loud and clear what RAs need:

• inclusion of all RAs in the Union, as was agreed in 2019
• basic employment protections (many required by law)
• benefits and wages comparable to teaching staff including MSP, extended health and dental coverage
• respect for the critical contributions that RAs give SFU

The money is there. SFU hoarded a $53.5 million surplus during the pandemic and continues to take in $170 million / year for research.

We ask you to join your fellow TSSU members and allies for a rally at 12pm next Thursday Sept 23 at Cornerstone Square on Burnaby Campus (right beside Biercraft).
