The TSSU General Membership meetings on Mon 29 May and Thu 22 Jun included presentation of a motion to pass the following proposed version of the union's By-Laws and Policies. The changes included have been discussed in previous General Membership meetings, as well as TSSU's Internal Relations committee. The content of the By-Laws and Policies in this proposed version is otherwise unchanged from the version currently in effect.

This proposed version includes the following changes:

• the replacement of gendered pronouns (e.g. 'she', 'hers', 'he', 'him', 'his') with appropriate nouns where possible (e.g. 'the member', 'Salaried Officer', 'that candidate'), and gender neutral pronouns elsewhere (e.g. 'they', 'them', 'theirs');
• the inclusion of a Preamble prior to By-Law A., which explains the reasoning and context of these proposed changes;
• the inclusion of 'gender' to By-Law B.(a)
