TSSU is in the News: The Peak and The Tyee

More and more journalists are reporting on our unnecessarily long bargaining and the larger issue of precarious employment on Universities across the country.

The Tyee's Katie Hyslop had this to say on September 21st:

Less risky and expensive than hiring full-time tenured faculty, universities across Canada are replacing retired faculty with temporary teachers, called sessionals or non-regulars...

While The Peak's Melissa Roach reported on September 18th:

Though monetary issues had not previously been brought to the bargaining table, SFU’s final package proposed wage increases in line with Public Sector Employers’ Council mandate, but also some decreases in certain members’ pay, which the TSSU claims will bring them below the mandate.
