    Red Women Rising Reading Group

    This event is held on unceded lands belonging to the sḵwx̱wú7mesh, sel̓íl̓witulh, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm nations. The Solidarity & Social Justice Committee of the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU) is honoured to be facilitating a reading group centred around the Red Women Rising report about Indigenous Women Survivors in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The report was produced by the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) and authored by Carol Muree Martin & Harsha Walia, with 128 collaborators including Indigenous women survivors, DEWC members, and other community members. “Red Women Rising: Indigenous Women Survivors in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside is an extraordinary report with Indigenous women survivors at the center; rather than as a secondary reference.     TSSU Surrey Office Grand Opening Board Game Party!

    With CUPE 3338 and APSA, We have finally secured a home base in Surrey!! Please join us at the grand opening of the Surrey Office with decorating, board games, refreshments and each other!! 🙂  The party starts at 4:30pm but please feel free to drop off a decoration you’d like to put in the office anytime of the day!  The office will be open at least three times a week (mostly Tue – Thu), where all members can come by to ask question, get updates on bargaining, find information and forms, get some love and more!     Friday, May 1012:30pm – 3:30pm (walking tours: 1:30 & 3:30, 45 min each)Biology/Chemistry Court Yard, SFU Burnaby It’s SUMMER TIME & International Workers’ Day! Please come celebrate with us at TSSU DAY! There will be lots of grilled goodies, including burgers and hot dogs (veggie & gluten free options available), fun activities such as make your own buttons, and learn about rad SFU labour and student activism history with our SFU Labour Walking Tour: Collective Action Gets the Goods!
