Guard.me Grievance Update: No Settlement

TSSU has spent the last 2 days trying to reach a mediated settlement with SFU over their illegal imposition of the mandatory Guard.me Medical Plan. Despite TSSU's best efforts to find a reasonable and affordable solution and avoid a public airing of SFU's dirty laundry in a hearing, SFU has remained unwilling to find a fair solution to the Guard.me problem. TSSU now has over 1700 pages of internal SFU communications that contain troubling revelations regarding this terrible plan and the decision to impose it. TSSU remains committed to fighting for justice for our international student members and will pursue this Guard.me grievance to the end. We will receive recommendations from the mediator in the near future, and if those recommendations fail to resolve the problem, we will be proceeding to a formal hearing.
